Bee Docs Timeline: What’s New in March ’09
Hi, this is Adam and I’ d like to show you four improvements to Bee Docs Timeline that were published as part of free software updates this month.
— Video Improvements
We have improved the quality and the flexibility of timeline video exports.
Previously a 3D timeline exported from Bee Docs Timeline would stop on each and every event in the sequence. Now you can select specific events and create a timeline that only pauses on the events that you choose.
We also added the option to render your timelines with a professional motion blur effect which creates even better looking videos of your timeline charts especially when they are moving quickly.
— Better Layout
The performance of the automatic layout has improved dramatically in the latest release. Large timelines render up to 10 times faster. Because of these improvements, it is now possible to create larger and more complex timelines.
Previously the practical limit for a timeline was about 200 events, now we are having good results with timelines that have over 1,000 events.
Also, the software used to be inefficient about the layout of timelines that were very tall. For example, timelines that have more than 2 or 3 rows. These timelines now fit much more compact.
— Things
Things is Task Management software for the Mac made by a company called Cultured Code. If you keep your to do items in Things, you can now create a timeline of all of your due dates in just a few clicks.
— Keynote Movies
One of the most popular ways for our customers to present their timelines is using Apple's Keynote software that is part of the iWork suite. Previously Bee Docs Timeline would create Keynote slides using still images of your timeline.
Now, you can quickly create full motion slides in Keynote. Each slide shows the 3D transition from one event to the next so that you can present your timeline at your own pace or even layout text and graphics on top of your timeline at appropriate places.
I hope you enjoy these improvements to Bee Docs Timeline. WeÕll have another round in the coming weeks, so please stay tuned to our blog for the latest news. Thanks!
